What is proofCare?
The GMG proofCare service offers regular preventative maintenance visits from our Epson trained engineers.
Our engineers will perform several configuration steps, similar to our installation procedure. These are designed to ensure the device performs to the highest standard whilst in the field.
As well as mechanical testing, our engineers will check the service life of the printer’s components and make recommendations for any replacements, prior to failure. This will make sure that you continue to achieve your production deadlines.
The proofCare contract options are based on the number of the printers on-site and the required visit frequency. Each contract is on a per site basis and up to a maximum of 4 devices.
What is covered?
GMG proofCare also includes 1 x Epson repair visit (parts not included), should any items require replacement.
The following procedures are performed during each visit:
• Advanced Nozzle Checks
• Ink System Delivery Checks
• Head Slant Test
• Side Slant Test
• Paper Feed Adjustment
• Roll Tension Adjustment
• Cutter Life Check
• CR Belt Check
• CR Motor Life Check
• PF Motor Life Check
• Encoder Strip Clean
• Page Count Check
• Carriage Pass Check
• Internal Clean
• Replacement Part Recommendations
Your Epson device is an integral part of your GMG ColorProof solution. Without it performing to the best of its ability, your proof results can be compromised.
The Epson LFP devices are built as photographic printers. With GMG’s ColorProof software, we transform these into high-end proofing solutions capable of delivering ‘Contract Proofs’.
To deliver consistently accurate proofing, GMG Color has developed their own printer driver to deliver the
required control over the inkjet droplets of these devices. This completely by-passes the standard Epson driver. This high level of control requires the device to be setup to a very high standard. The printers ‘out-of-the-box’ are of varying tolerances, adequate when using the supplied Epson driver.
On installation, our Epson trained engineers perform high-level testing and configuration to ensure these tolerances are tightened to achieve the highly accurate color management that our customers (and their clients) expect from a GMG Proof.
This professional setup ensures that proof verification to standards such as Fogra 39L etc are achieved with minimal dE differences.
The purpose of purchasing a proofing system is to have the ability to produce proofs for clients that are of the highest standard, giving an accurate representation of the final printed product. Additional adjustments such as head alignments, paper feed adjustments and CR slant settings all contribute to
delivering these consistent results.
As the Epson hardware ages, we have seen the mechanical tolerances shift and components fail. These can impact on your production quality and ability to deliver proofing to your clients.
With GMG proofCare, you are able to maintain the high-level output required for contract proofing.
GMG proofCare is a preventative maintenance plan and does not include any parts that may be required during the life of the device covered.
Any recommended replacement parts will require a purchase order and an additional visit for fitment.
One repair visit is included with each GMG proofCare contract.
