What influences the processing time of a single PDF file?
- The PDF itself (number and kind of objects, overprint and transparency, structure).
- Hotfolder configuration: flattening, spot color conversion.
- Number of concurrent PDF jobs.
- Hardware (CPU, memory, storage).
The challenge is to find the balance between increasing the processing time for a single job and decreasing the total process time using concurrent PDF jobs.
A multi-core CPU (4-8) cores is recommended with fast storage medium (SSD).
