GMG ColorProof Licensing
A GMG OpenColor Output License is required for each GMG ColorProof instance to be able to process GMG OpenColor profiles.
|•||GMG DotProof/FlexoProof 5.8 or higher is required for processing GMG OpenColor DotProof profiles (MXD).|
|•||GMG ColorProof 5.6 or higher is required for processing GMG OpenColor contone profiles (MXN).|
1. Close all GMG applications.
2. Extract the zip archive and run the installation.
The installation instructions are valid for new and update installations. Before updating to a new GMG OpenColor version you can backup the folder containing all configuration dataC:\ProgramData\GMG\GMGOpenColor\DatabaseV2 to a new location.
TECHKON SpectroDens – BETA release
GMG OpenColor 2.1.1 supports the TECHKON SpectroDens in a beta status.
The product name alone suggests the multiple uses of the device. As a spectro-densitometer, SpectroDens combines the qualities of a highly accurate spectro-photometer and an easy-to-use densitometer.
Measurement is spectral, i. e. the entire color information is precisely registered. The data is converted into measurement data for descriptive analysis and display:
- Densitometric data is widely used in quality control during the printing process.
- Colorimetric data is used in the evaluation of print proofs, the creation of color profiles in color management like in GMG OpenColor and the color matching and formulation of inks.
- Integrated Scan-Function
- Fast measurement time
- Fast positioning by intuitive and comfortable handling
- Changeable measure aperture
- High resolution spectral module
- Direction independent measurement
Installation of TECHKON driver:
1. Download the TECHKON Driver package (TECHKON Device Service SDK) from our website atOpenColor 2.1.1
2. Install the driver package by running the TDService.exe enclosed
The following technical issue have been resolved in GMG OpenColor 184.108.40.206. Please note that the list describes the problem, not the solution.
Missing I1iO scan mode support for DotProof Iteration Test Charts
Measurement of DotProof Iteration Test Charts with X-Rite i1iO had been restricted to patch mode.
Incorrect measurement positions with i1iO in patch mode
An issue in X-Rite i1iO patch mode measurement position calculation resulted in wrong color measurements. [75011, 75254, 75462]
Incorrect processing of X-Rite eXact measurement data in Custom Patch Measure Tool
Incorrect interpolation of spectra from X-Rite eXact device in Custom Patch Measure Tool resulted in wrong color measurements.
CGATs merge canceled with error
Averaging measurements by selecting more than one CGATS measurement file aborted with an invalid measurement file error.
Lab values not shown in color correction view if spot channel between CMYK
In certain cases OpenColor did not display the lab values of spot colors in the “color correction” view. This affected characterizations and projects using a Channel sequence with a spot color intermixed with the CMYK “block” (e.g. CM SPOT YK or C SPOT MYK).
OpenColor crashed during project export
Export of projects using itself as Input Color Space in a Separation Rule resulted in an application crash.
Printing with dynamic OpenColor Proofstandard caused error “Proof Profile (MXN) required
Duplicating or importing OpenColor projects was sometimes done incompletely. This resulted in proofing jobs based on the published project/ProofStandard to abort with the above error.
Unable to calculate profile if project inks used gradation curve with inversion
Calculating MXN profiles where one or more colors contain inversions in the target gradation curves, were canceled with an “Error during processing”.
End of Life
Please note that we will no longer provide bug fixes, maintenance releases, workarounds, or patches for bugs found in GMG OpenColor 220.127.116.11 or older.
