First, shut down the printer using the Power Off button.
Then, lift off the SpectroProofer from the front of the printer.
Open the black flap at the front of the SpectroProofer.
On the left side sits the ILS unit, with two cables inserted into it.
Remove both cables from the unit, and lift the device up and out of the printer.
For ILS30 upgrade only: Add the adapter cable to the ILS30 (it comes with it and fits snugly on top of the unit).
Insert the ILS30 into the slot where you removed the old unit. Ensure it firmly clicks down.
Place both cables into the new ILS30 unit.
Now look to the back of the SpectroProofer.
Remove the tab containing the white tile as shown in the picture above (and close up below).
Replace the white tile (the small piece that sits on the end of the slab) with the new one.
Place the SpectroProofer back onto the printer.
Once on the printer, check the USB cable is fully inserted under the black flap on the left side.
Turn the printer back on.
The printer can be used as normal.
If there are any errors or problems, check seating of all pieces and check that cables are fully secure. Try restarting the printer again if necessary.
If you are upgrading from an ILS20 to an ILS30 (4900 only, not applicable to P5000), please check the following settings in ColorProof software:
Under Output > Configure Printer, choose the Measuring Device as ILS30 M1. See screenshot below.
You can then calibrate the printer using the Auto CaliWizard as normal.
The Auto CaliWizard button is located on the same Output screen, next to the calibration set name.
